The most productive parts for me were the grammar teaching. The way KCP approaches this was very effective.

Martin from Spring 2019

In my first semester last summer, there was a session with a Japanese psychologist that was extremely interesting. It very much helped me understand several norms of behaviour in Japan that were confusing me, and help me better understand what expectations would be place on me while living in Japan.

Please research how to do daily activities in Japan such as laundry etc. Furthermore depending on where you live you may want to look at google maps and see whats in the area beforehand so you can get an idea of where you want to go or shop.

The amount of studying required is intense and you will need to study very hard. You will also need to make an effort to get out and see Japan because there is always more to be studying it can be hard to make time to see Japan but it’s part of the experience.

Because I am a huge fan of research and spreadsheets, I created an excel worksheet comparing numerous Japanese study abroad programs by cost, housing, length of study, and many other comparison points. Overall, KCP came out superior based on the amount of things that you get for the price. After completing the program, I can say choosing KCP was a perfect decision. KCP is a real school — professional teachers, strict grading systems, textbooks – the whole package. KCP proved to be much more than I expected – the classes are tough, but it taught me how to work harder, build a work ethic, and I am coming out with many rich experiences thanks to KCP. This school truly prepares you for higher levels and entrance into Japanese colleges.
