A Day at the Tokyo Sky Tower: Genshin Impact Collab Edition Part 1
There’s no better excuse to visit one of Tokyo’s most iconic buildings than a Genshin Impact collaboration! I recently went with my friends from KCP on a tour of the Tokyo Skytree to explore the breathtaking views and seeing my favorite game displayed and buying limited time merch! Here’s a peek into our day, traveling to the Skytree and experiencing all the Genshin magic, all while 450 meters above Tokyo!
This is a Day in the Life: Go to the Tokyo Skytree with me!
Getting to the Tokyo Skytree could not have been easier. There is a train station that runs directly beneath the Skytree, ideal for “Travelers” like us to see the Genshin collab. The excitement hit as soon as we made it to the escalators leading to the Skytree. We were met with giant posters featuring popular characters showing us the correct direction to see the exhibit at the top of the tower.
*Pro tip: Make sure to book your ticket in advance online, especially for early morning spots to skip long lines and enjoy the area before the crowds show up!*
On the way to the tower, we discovered that the area was a destination in itself! There were many stores, restaurants and of course, the famous Ghibli store. WE snapped pictures of the iconic life sized Totoro and Catbus!
*Pro tip:Save your Mora for this store! The Ghibli store is a must stop show if you are a collector of both the popular and rare Ghibli merchandise! *
We continued to explore the area around the Skytree until we finally were directly below the tower! You would not believe from this image alone that I was craning my neck back and changing my phone settings to get almost the entire tower in one image! The tower is over 450 meters tall! That is about 5 football fields tall. With our tickets ready to go, we lined up at the entrance. We were lucky to enter the Skytree when we did, because shortly after we experienced a small earthquake! Fortunately, Skytree has earthquake technology that holds the tower stable no matter how intense the earthquake is. Skytree staff guided us through how to cover and wait out theearthquake by getting low to the ground and covering our heads and necks. Just a few moments later, we were in the clear and ready to explore!
