Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I think that being a part of the tea ceremony as well as the overnight Hakone / Yamanashi trip were that highlights of the events/activities.

What were your goals in attending the KCP program?

Going to Japan was a long time goal of mine. I was happy to learn more about the culture and more importantly the language. The language was a top priority for me because the area in which I reside there is not a strong Japanese Culture.

Why did you select this program?

A student from my university had been a part of the summer short term program which made it easier to decide that this program was worth attending. In addition the price of the program made a impact in my decision. Also, the website made it easy to learn about the program and its previous students.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

Overall the program was extremely productive. The classes as well as special classes added more to the learning.

Where did you live?

Ikebukuro

Were you pleased with the general living arrangements? Anything you especially liked? Any problems you experienced?

At first the accommodation seemed small but in reality it had everything I needed on a daily basis. The location of the dorm also played a big role. We had access to convenience stores, the station, a grocery store and even close to main shopping and entertainment area. I am very pleased with everything. The dorm Manager was friendly and extremely helpful.

Testimonials

If you’re considering KCP, just sign up. If you have to, save up for it. It was worth it. I continue to learn the language, I continue to make new friends, I continue to find new, unfamiliar and exciting places and all of this was possible because I made the decision to learn at KCP. I have met some really great people (friends as well as teachers) who have helped me grow as a person. I’m thankful for this time I’ve spent here. It really has gone by too fast but I will forever remember the memories I’ve made here.
